MIXED BY Jessy Lanza

The Hyperdub singer and producer delivers a dreamy mix of R&B, house and footwork.

At the recent Field Day in London's Victoria Park, one of THUMP's favorite live acts was Hyperdub singer and producer Jessy Lanza. Before Ryan Hemsworth and Lunice closed the stage, Jessy's live set was a heady delight. Her vocals, so delicate on record, were a rare combination of soft and strong in a live setting, booming out over the arrangements with a power that had us absorbed. If we were in any doubt about just how much her R&B influence would come across in a live setting, the Field Day show was a solid confirmation.

It also got us thinking, too - what kind of R&B does Jessy listen to? In answer, and in the interim between last years excellent debut Pull My Hair Backand her forthcoming album (both for Hyperdub), Jessy's put together an exclusive mix of R&B, rap, footwork and house, which has got us super excited for what's coming next from her.

Hyperdub are celebrating their 10 year anniversary with a series of releases this summer.
