Brisbanites head along to Trainspotters to catch local rabble rousers Thigh Master and their goon bag loving pop, punk upstarts Woodboot and new band Police Force whose track “Love” we think sounds like a Queensland version of Sun Araw or Spacemen 3.

Sydney gets Orion who are responsible for “Turbulence” one of our favouirte songs of recent times. Also the scrappy but melodic Point Being and the newish Tim and the Boys whose Tim Collier in a recent interview told us, “ I think we were all a bit over that jangle pop wave of bands riding the grunge aesthetic and decided to finally do something about it”. This gig at the Chippendale will be a jangle free event.

Melbourne’s lineup at the Grace Darling could be the ‘partiest’ of the three shows with Tyrannamen whose upcoming album on Cool Death is as about as anticipated as the new Royal Headache around these parts. If you have not seen Tyrannamen play live before get ready to have a new favourite band. If you are not into people smiling and having genuine fun when watching a band it’s probably best you stay home. Also on the Melbourne bill is Pronto and their KBD style of infectious punk and Grotto whose demo Pink Sock was named after a slang term for an anal prolapse. Maybe that’s all you need to know.

See you at one of the shows. Just remember to RSVP!
