Watch the Trailer for Noisey's New Four Part Series: Converse Rubber Tracks

In this new series we follow four new artists as they travel to historic studios across the world to team up with artists that inspired them, from Thurston Moore to Marky Ramone.

Getting a demo cut is tough work: the cost, the slog, the hours of work to get a scratchy white-noise tape down that might do just enough justice for your sound to peer through. How do you stand out in the midst of millions of emerging artists in the glut of the internet?

For the 84 acts chosen from a pool of over 9,000 applicants to take part in the Converse Rubber Tracks global studio takeover, the path got a whole lot clearer. Those bands and artists, plucked from over 25 countries, were given the opportunity to travel to the world's most iconic studios and record with the help of game-changing musicians at the tops of their fields.

For the next four weeks, Noisey will showcase four of these artists in a series of short films, as they travel to the studios that they dreamed of and meet the artists that inspired them, from Mark Ronson to Marky Ramone. Some of these acts we've covered before and some of them are fresh to us. All of them offer something essential. And each experience has been captured through the lens of a different promising director.

Check out the trailer below and watch out for Forever Vacation, the story of Brazilian band Water Rats' teaming up with Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore, at Seattle's Avast Studios, coming here on Noisey next week.
