Melbourne's GL Premiere Their Glossy New Club Pop Track "Grip"

We talk to Ella and Graeme about the exclusive Record Store Day release.

Last weekend synth masters GL released Number One, an exclusive 7" for Record Store Day. And because it was a magical 24 hours – and Ella and Graeme are such nice people – they also included their brand new single Grip on the record. Ella says "Grip is about physical love. This is a recurring theme in our album Touch. When something takes its grip and really has a hold on you, it can feel like a game of cat and mouse. You might say all the right things, try and keep your cool but in the end your body does the talking." Hot stuff.

As Ella's rundown suggests, the track is taking the band in a more sensual direction-while maintaining their signature disco-pop sound. Obviously not all of us were lucky enough to have nabbed a copy, so if you weren't one of the people cramming yourself into a store on Saturday we've got you covered. Today the duo are very kindly premiering the track over on i-D. To read more, and the band's interview, check out the full story.
