Watch Kevin Gates’ New “Change Lanes” Video

Check out the new Cole Bennett-directed video for Gates' 'Chained to the City' track.

After surprise-releasing his Chained To The City project last night (that’s right, dudes! Surprise drops are back!) Kevin Gates has now dropped a music video for “Change Lanes”, one of the three tracks from Chained to the City. Recorded in Chicago, Chained to the City was released last night to mark the first night of Ramadan. The “Change Lanes” video was directed by Chicago-based filmmaker Cole Bennett, who also made Lil Xan’s “Betrayed” video, Lil Pump’s “D Rose” video and Lil Skies’ “Nowadays” video. It’s nice to see him expanding his art beyond just the Lils! Watch “Change Lanes” above.

Chained to the City is Gates' first new music since being released from prison on parole in January. The EP's title refers to the fact that he is unable to leave the city of Chicago during his parole period. A press release sent alongside "Change Lanes" outlined Gates' feelings on the situation:

Although Gates is unable to travel, perform and provide for his family during this time, he is not upset with nor does he have issues with the city of Chicago, IL. He is simply upset with the parole because he thought it would be rehabilitative in nature and not punitive. Gates has always held true to the fact that great people undergo great tests. This is just another one.
