Cardi also spoke about her decision to have her first child with Migos' Offset and how people's reaction to her pregnancy has affected her:"I enjoy doing music. Lately, it's been a little so-so because I feel like people have made it something that is so hard to enjoy. People have made it for me like it's a job. At first it was fun. At first it was just doing music that I like. Now people have this pressure for me and people want to put me in these standards that I never asked for."

"Be Careful," one of the most recent singles released from Invasion of Privacy was met with resistance from fans who prefer Cardi's delivery on songs like "Bodak Yellow." The song samples Lauryn Hill's "Ex-Factor" track from The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Cardi spoke about how people's reaction made her feel:"It really bothers me and disgusts me because I see a lot of women online like, 'Oh, I feel sorry for you. Oh, your career is over.' And it's like, why can't I have both? As a woman, why can't I have both? Why do I gotta choose a career or a baby? I want both."
On Monday, Cardi also stopped by Hot 97 to speak with Ebro about many of the same topics. They spoke about people's criticism of her career and how much of it is invalid because very few people know what it's like to constantly be in the public eye. She also touched on the beginning stages of her music career, which came at a time of uncertainty when she was gaining a large Instagram following."Even when I was popping on Instagram, I was just like, you know what, I don't know how long I'm gonna be popping. I'm just trying to open something. I want to own a cleaning company. I wanna buy a house," she said. "My manager at the time was like, 'You're so witty doing remixes to songs. You should try rapping on a beat. You think you could write?' I was feeling it but I was scared to fail."
