Here's Nina Las Vegas's Guide to Adelaide

Triple J's Sydney sweetheart keeps her Aussie tour diary popping with this quick trip to Adelaide.

When she's not getting surprise married to Hudson Mohawke or working with Diplo's Heaps Decent (a music program for disadvantaged youth Down Under), Nina Las Vegas is busy making sure she's Australia's most beloved household name. A favorite radio presenter on national station Triple J and a wicked DJ who has headlined Stereosonic and Big Day Out (among many other festivals), we wouldn't be surprised if NLV's name soon became more recognizable than Vegemite.

This month, Nina is touring Australia with heaps of up-and-coming producers that she's handpicked for her NLV Presents tour. She gave us some words and pictures about her shows so far and composed her own guide to the Aussie city of Adelaide.

As told to us by Nina Las Vegas:

Last Thursday night, I took the NLV Presents party to Adelaide, bringing Perth-based producer Sable and Sydney brothers Cosmo's Midnight with me. They were joined by some local producers/DJs: Tink, Motez, and rapper Tkay Maidza. Our party was also taking place in the middle of the Adelaide Fringe festival. It's not uncommon to hear pretty dull things about Adelaide, but the more I visit the South Australian capital, the more I like it. Here's why:

1. Adelaide has good food.
Not only is Adelaide surrounded by amazing vineyards/wineries, they have a pizza shop called Good Life that hands-down does THE best mushroom pizza I've ever eaten in my life. Since eating there about a year ago, I've gone EVERY VISIT SINCE. Strangely, Cos and Pat preferred the curry chicken slice.

2. Kids in Adelaide have good taste.
The room filled super early, and local chicas Tink and Tkay Maidza had the crowd eating out of their hands basically as soon as the doors opened. They're both regulars at the club, and it was nice to see their crew support them.

3. People in Adelaide are welcoming!
The best kind of party is when you can see the people at the back dance as much as the people at the front. Sable had never played Adelaide before, and he tore the place to pieces. The whole club was moving—it was incredible. Considering he's only had one song added to national Triple J rotation ("Feels So Good"), the reaction was super cool.

4. This town has a lot of pride.
Like Tink and Tkay, Motez is a regular at Electric Circus in Adelaide. Despite the fact that most people in the crowd had already seen him play about 50 times, Motez's set was wild. I've never seen him happier! Plus, with so many new remixes doing the Soundcloud rounds about now, it was great to see how many people in the crowd keep their ears out for their guy's tunes.
