The story of Greg Bryant keeps getting sadder and sadder, as West Palm Beach Police released a statement today declaring that the UAB (and former Notre Dame) running back is officially brain dead a day after being discovered shot on the highway, the Associated Press reports.Bryant, 21, was found shot up in the driver's side of a car on I-95 in West Palm Beach, along with passenger Maurice Grover, 25, early Saturday morning. Grover was hospitalized with minor injuries, but Bryant was listed in critical condition. Bryant was said to have been struggling for his life until the announcement from police at 1pm today that he was in fact brain dead—a condition of total and irreversible brain function loss.Bryant's former coach Brian Kelly issued the following statement:
