Legendary horror film director and composer John Carpenter is on the verge of releasing his second solo album Lost Themes II. And now you can stream it courtesy of NPR.

Lost Themes II follows up the original Lost Themes LP, Carpenter's first solo album released last year when he was 67. Bringing in both his son and godson as bandmates on the album, Carpenter carves out 12-tracks of the pensive synth and chugging guitar work he's become known for, including a tribute to the storied actor Bela Lugosi. With a mix of foreboding and panic, these tunes combine the ambience of horror with a sense of urgency, and wouldn't be out of place as b-side cuts to films such as Escape from New York or Big Trouble In Little China.

Lost Themes II is officially out on Sacred Bones on April 15 and is currently streaming on NPR. He last film was 2010's The Ward.
