Arca Shares Intense Video for “Reverie,” the Latest Track from His New Album

The one-take visual stars the producer playing a “wounded matador.”

Venezuelan-born producer Alejandro Ghersi, aka Arca, has shared an emotionally intense video for his new track "Reverie."

Shot in one take, the bullfighting-themed visual stars Ghersi as a bleeding, wounded matador, stumbling around in stilts against a bold red background. "Bullfighting is a piercing metaphor: you are fighting a bull, and at the same your self. You are not the victim or the oppressor, you are both—animality and bestiality are conflated," said Ghersi in a press release. "Evoking sex invokes our animality."

"Reverie" is the third track from Arca's forthcoming self-titled album, out April 7 on XL Recordings. Previously, the producer shared cuts "Piel" and "Anoche." As with the latter song, the video for "Reverie" was a visual collaboration with artist Jesse Kanda, who recently released his own debut EP.
