Giancarlo Stanton Mashed a Tater Straight into the Goddamn Scoreboard

There may as well be a button that adds a run to the scoreboard, so Giancarlo Stanton can just get that homer up there ASAP.

Oh my, Giancarlo Stanton. Don't hurt 'em, son. I mean, if you want the scoreboard to reflect the tater you just mashed, just mash it straight into the thing. May as well be a button that adds a run to the scoreboard, so Marlins right fielder Stanton can just get that homer up there ASAP. Hotchy motchy, that's some picante cajun mustard right there.

Let's take another look (though the G-D night game makes it hard to pick out):

Stanton's heaping serving of Thanksgiving goodness last night came at the bottom of the third with a base loaded, to put the Marlins up 2-3. It was a 441-foot monster—taking a 28 degree trajectory—off of a 116 mph fastball, which makes it the fourth fastest ball hit all year (he holds second place at 116.8). It was also only Stanton's fifth-longest career hit. Whatever it was, it must've set some kind of fear into the Mets, because they didn't score a run afterward—the Marlins closed out the game 7-2. Grab yourself a spoon. Plenty of mashed taters to go around.
