This J.R. Smith Press Conference About his Parents Will Make You Feel Again

Feel all the feelings as J.R. Smith cries about how much his family means to him.

J.R. Smith had 12 points in Cleveland's 93-89 Game 7 win over the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals and then he got real, real emotional. You could see him tear up on the court with ABC's cameras right in his face in the immediate aftermath, and that continued into the post game press conference when he was asked to speak about his parents, and his dad, on Father's Day.

Smith, from Millstone Township, New Jersey, talked through the tears as he thanked them and talked about how much his family means to him and then got even more emotional talking about his dad.

"To hear people talk bad about me, it hurts me because I know it hurts him and that's not who I am. I know he raised better and I know I wanna do better and just, everything I do is for my parents and my family. the cars are nice, the houses are nice, but none of this matters without them. If it wasn't for them I wouldn't be here. I don't know where I would be, honestly."

His dad was sitting in the room the whole time, too, so when J.R. finished, he walked down and gave him a big, long hug. If you're not sniffling just a little bit right now, I'm sorry for whatever horrible accident you were involved in that turned your heart black.
