Listen to Ummet Ozcan's Remix of Sander Van Doorn's "Neon"

Here's something that will make you grin like a goddamn fool and want to jump into a hot tub of glowsticks.

When Sander Van Doorn—the Dutch EDM producer/DJ with the Dutch-est name ever—released his emotionally-charged single "Neon" over the summer, he declared that his intention was to "do a track that wouldn't be what everybody expected." What he probably did expect was for the song to blow up and become everyone's favorite comedown ballad. Who can resist a track that pulls on the old heartstrings with both digital and analog instruments‚ including the trusty old cello? Producing the track reportedly took 18 months, a whopping stretch of time in a scene where producers often boast about spitting out a new track after an overnight jam session. The reason behind the track's prolonged incubation? Sander meticulously tweaked the composition until it emerged, fully-formed, as something that he says is "illuminating and powerful"… and we say makes your grin like a goddamn fool and want to jump into a hot tub of glowsticks.

Now, we're premiering the official remix by DOORN labelmate, fellow Dutchman, and tech-trance master Ummet Ozcan, who subs out those weepy cellos for a more aggressive, muscled-up version. Look out for it when it drops Monday, December 9 on DOORN.
