Silver Snakes is a band from Los Angeles that tows the line between metal and rock, all the while sounding great. The band's upcoming record Saboteur puts into motion everything the band has been working at since their inception as a band. "Red Wolf" is the prism of different noises and forces, creating a sound that is distinct enough to be Silver Snakes. At times, the guitars can feature a heaviness and weight akin to Corrosion of Conformity, and then in a second the song will transition into a phase more airy and atmospheric. But despite the style change-ups, it never sounds out of character for the band, and it all remains crushing.

Lead singer Alex Estrada says of the track,

""Red Wolf" was one of the last songs written for the album. We had this 8 minute long sludge track that I was having trouble with lyrically so I decided to rework all of the music while keeping the focus on the unconventional tuning. Lyrically it was inspired by the mysticism of protection spells; one in particular called the “7 knots untying” and how that would apply to political and environmental activists seeking to sabotage their enemies."

Sabatouer drops February 5 via Evil Ink, and you can order your copy here for US and here for EU. Also catch the band on tour with Glassjaw and Coheed and Cambria:
