Bulgarian producer KiNK, Toronto's Basic Soul Unit, and New Flesh founder Umwelt are among the eight artists featured on a new compilation dedicated to German artist Andreas Gehm, who committed suicide earlier this year. THUMP is honored to debut the compilation today, which finds most of the artists testing out variations on the acid house Gehm was known to favor. All proceeds from sales of To Andreas Gehm will go towards taking care of the German producer's post-mortem expenses.

Gehm's best friend Joe Kurta told THUMP about his relationship with Gehm via email. "I knew Andreas for more then 20 years. He dedicated his whole life to acid house and music in general. I remember us sitting in the office, selling vinyl and listening to new tracks," he said. "It's good to remember the good times, but it's still very sad as Andreas decided not to tell anyone how serious his heath problems—and other problems—were. Then it was too late, and even the doctors couldn't help him anymore. Before all this happened, he was in a very good way. He started to take good care of himself, eat healthier, and he was very happy that finally his music was picking up."

To Andreas Gehm will be released in digital formats by Singapore imprint Midnight Shift on November 25. A vinyl edition will follow in Spring 2017, with the exact date to be determined.
