Back in 2010, prominent Brooklyn venue Market Hotel closed to widespread dismay after an unexpected police raid. In a community meeting soon thereafter, reported on by THUMP's Editor-in-chief Emilie Friedlander, concert promoter Todd P announced that he would be transforming the space into "a full-blown non-profit venue and community center."

After a long and quiet hiatus, the venue released an official statement yesterday that it's officially back at its old location of 1140 Myrtle Ave, Bushwick. It looks like the new incarnation will be similar to the vision mapped mapped out by Todd P several years ago, too, as their announcement offered the following: "We're proud that the space will be able to serve our neighborhood and our City beyond the traditional 'indie' music community -- through diverse programming both culturally in the evenings, and in direct not-for-profit work giving back to the community we live in."

To make things all the more real, their statement also included their initial upcoming schedule, and it looks great. 1080p artist Via App will play the opening party on January 22 with the BODY ACTUALIZED CONTROL djs, while label and party institution The Bunker is set to bring Silent Servant and Bill Converse soon thereafter on January 30. Following that, Aurora Halal and Zara Wladawsky's Sustain-Release festival will do a "camper's reunion" on April 2, and NY artist Mykki Blanco will also play April 5. Check out their so-far-released schedule in full here.
