A man believed to be the owner or manager of a Toronto weed dispensary was shot to death Saturday night.

Police said James Clayton Holland, 43, was found with multiple gunshot wounds just after 9:45 PM Saturday. He was located at 9 Milvan Drive—a strip mall called Plaza Latina—and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Media reports have identified Holland as either the owner or manager of a dispensary on the second floor of the plaza. According to WeedMaps, a website that tracks dispensaries across the country, the address is home to a pot shop called Up in Smoke.

No suspects have been arrested.

As of Monday morning, police would not confirm Holland's connection to the dispensary or provide any new information about the shooting.

On social media, members of the weed industry speculated the government could use the shooting to justify crackdowns on dispensaries. Ontario has already said it will not be allowing private dispensaries to sell weed, instead opting for an LCBO-controlled monopoly.

Police have asked anyone with information to come forward.
