G Milla Wants to Be a 6ixside James Dean in “LFDY”

Live fast, die young—but listen to this track first.

If you've watched Donnie Darko or read the works of Graham Greene, you've probably heard the phrase, "Destruction is a form of creation." It's the time old adage of edgy youth and old nihilists—the idea that we can only create our best works by first destroying the established norms and comfortability of the past. For most young (and sometimes destructive) artists, this a mantra one can resonate with, which is why Toronto rapper G Milla's new single "LFDY" (off his upcoming EP of the same name—an acronym for 'Live Fast, Die Young') sticks like glue on first listen.

Aside from having a moody, upbeat bass that could easily be the soundtrack for a neon James Dean's final ride, LFDY is just straight-up catchy. You don't need to think too much about why you like it—something that G says was his mindset going into the project. "Throughout the whole summer, I was living and not worrying about the next day," he told Noisey. "'LFDY' is all about living your life to the fullest without the stress. Focus on the now and do the best job you can." Listen to the track below.
