Learn From Jason Pierre-Paul and Be Safe Today with Fireworks

JPP, who knows a little bit about the subject, filmed a PSA for fireworks safety.

One year ago, New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul blew off most of his right hand when he was lighting fireworks during a Fourth of July celebration. In the public service announcement above, he briefly recounts what happened, saying that he lit one, but wasn't able to toss it before it exploded in his hand, leaving his right his hand mangled, and his career in jeopardy. So this year, since he knows a little bit about the subject, JPP got together with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to talk about how dangerous it can be for amateurs to mess around with fireworks.

JPP cautions viewers to keep fireworks away from kids and leave fireworks to the professionals. So learn something from the guy who blew his hand off, and just stick to beers and hot dogs today. Watch the fireworks from afar.
