Holy Synesthesia, Iceland's Samaris Had Us on One with Their "Tibrá" Vid

Think somewhere between Björk and Purity Ring.

If only we could all wake up and fall asleep every day to Samaris' "Tibrá" video. The world would be a much calmer, blissed-out place. The Icelandic trio have been fast on the come-up since winning Músíktilraunir, their country's most prestigious new music award, in 2011. "Tibrá," pronounced "tea-brow," is the third single from their excellent Silkidrangar album. It's ten tracks of names we can't pronounce, positing experimentally-leaning, evocative electronica with Jófríður Ákadóttir's chalky vocals whispering sweet nothings into your ears. Think somewhere between Björk and Purity Ring.

The video for "Tibrá" breathes in color and atmosphere. It fits the track in a way that, despite the bright fluorescent lights and stifling regularity of an office on a Wednesday morning, had us lifted to a whole different place.
