Teens Organizing Parties on Snapchat to Jump and Rob People: Cops

Toronto police are warning the denizens of Canada's biggest city about parties that teens are organizing in order to beat up and rob other teens.

OK, this one is a little hard to unpack but I'm going to do my best. The parties—which are called "Rosedale Jams"—named after one of the richest neighbourhoods in Toronto—reportedly all end in what police say are "swarming-style robberies, stabbings, and assaults." The parties reportedly take place in different public spaces on a weekly basis, including several that occurred near Rosedale Park.

The parties have taken place in the last three weeks and the crimes involve other teenagers being assaulted and robbed. Police say in a release that they suspects are "eight to 10 boys and girls in their late teens, wearing hoodies and covering their faces with bandanas."

"These events are being advertised through social media sites such as Snapchat and various webpages, resulting in hundreds of people showing up to these events, many of them strangers to each other," reads the police release.

Now, this isn't the first time that Toronto teens have been using social media for fucked up purposes. Last December, teens filmed themselves essentially jumping people at their highschool, dubbed the videos "Friday Night Fights" and shared them on Snapchat. In that same month, a mass group of teens filmed themselves beating the shit out of the father of another teen.

Teens, man. I thought they were all lame now.
