A Very Good Puck Drop from a Very Good Dog

This fluffy buddy Lake nailed the puck drop. And is clearly a very good boy.

Let us gaze upon the majesty that is a dog with a job. Lake, a golden lab from Danville, California, stands out among dogs with jobs because last night he had two: one, as the companion dog to lifelong Sharks fan Danny McHale, and two, as the ceremonial puck dropper. And man oh man, did he nail both of them.

Note the technique, the dramatic tension that Lake brings before the puck drop—the nail-biting seconds he takes to decide whether or not he wants to get the puck at all. Will he? Will he do it? He knows how to keep a crowd at the edge of their seats. Then, there's the drop itself. He gently clutches the puck in his jaws, and then just sort of whatevers it to the ground. Right on the carpet. He knows those guys have sticks to get it.

Lake, you've sure got a sort of je ne sais quoi about you, don't you? Good puck drop, good boy.
