Although Legowelt's name is most commonly associated with his early 2000s electroclash anthems, most notably "Disco Rout," he also champions 20-odd aliases. Today, he adds Zandvoort & Uilenbal to that list of monikers, a duet of Legowelt and unknown collaborator Jim Hellinga. The pair released a concert recording called Geruis Uit Somberdorp yesterday, a project commissioned by the Dutch classical radio program Concertzender. A characteristically bold but sonically unconventional endeavor by the Dutch producer.

On the record, Legowelt and Hellinga pair a synthesizer with two unusual instruments: a wood-crafted harmonium organ and a Mixtur Trautonium. The latter is an early electronic instrument originally developed in the early 20th century Berlin. Both instruments add haunting touches to the project, a blissful exploration of mundane coldness, showing a quaint side of the Dutch producer.

Geruis Uit Somberdorp is now available for purchase on Bandcamp, where you can also stream the record. Listen to Legowelt's less-haunting THUMP mix from earlier this year.
