Fake News: Yankees Stage Elaborate Mock Interview to Celebrate Home Run

The use of the snack tray as a camera was truly inspired.

The Yankees only have four more games to go in the regular season and they're absolutely feeling themselves. To the point that they're cooking up some pretty sick dugout celebrations.

They've locked up home field advantage for the Wild Card, with the division still in play, and are hitting a deep stride with their sluggers. Not only do they have Aaron Judge murdering homers like he's in the peak of his career (he's a rookie), but Starlin Castro is also getting hot at the right time. Last night in the sixth inning against the Rays, he crushed his second homer in as many days and was greeted by a presser in the dugout itself:

You can tell these Boys of Fall are having a good time, coming up with some next-level, Michel Gondry-like props. The cups and bottles as microphones were pretty good, but the tray full of seeds and snacks as a camera was truly inspired.

And after their 6-1 victory—just when you thought things couldn't get more meta—Castro addressed the fake interview in a real interview later:
