'Game of Thrones' Just Dropped an Explosive New Trailer for Season Seven

"The enemy is real. It's always been real."

For six seasons, we've watched the people of Westeros tear one another apart. Lannister against Stark; Tyrell against Baratheon; Bolton against, well, everyone. Meanwhile, in the far north, the White Walkers have been bidding their time by letting the humans pick each other off.

But HBO's newest trailer, teasing Game of Thrones' seventh season, hints that humanity might finally come together to save itself.

"For centuries, our families fought together against their common enemy, despite their differences, together," Jon Snow, the newly crowned King in the North, says. "We need to do the same if we're going to survive, because the enemy is real. It's always been real."

As Snow speaks, we see images of the season's coming wars. Daenerys Targaryen paces around Dragonstone, having just invaded with her giant army of Unsullied, Ironborn, and Dornish. Jaime Lannister rides across a flaming field. Yara and Theon gawk as ships explode. The one-eyed Beric Dondarrion wields a flaming sword (the fabled Lightbringer?). And of course, some giant-ass dragons look ready to burn everything in sight.

Interestingly, the trailer begins and ends with Sansa Stark. We first see her walking as her creepy mentor Littlefinger implores her to fight each and every battle she comes up against. But by the end, we hear Sansa echo Snow's words of unity: "When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies—but the pack survives."

Game of Thrones season seven will air on HBO July 16.
