The dubstep viral video queen, Lindsey Stirling, recently ranked number four on Forbes' "World's Top-Earning YouTube Stars" list for 2015. The annual compilation reports that the 29-year-old Californian's cinematically choreographed electro-violin performances earned her six million dollars this year. That is approximately 60 times more than what Jamie Dornan made when he showed the world his penis as Christian Grey in "Fifty Shades of Grey."

"It's a very loyal fan base that wants you to succeed because they found you," she explained to Forbes. "It wasn't some big radio station or record label that shoved art down someone's throat." While some argue that dubstep is a slowly dying art, Stirling, who is the only musician on this year's list, proves that the stalwart dance music genre remains a celebrated, and not to mention prosperous, force to be reckoned with.

Stirling's explosive popularity from two ostensibly niche genres of music is also indicative of YouTube's power to successfully showcase the world's obscurity that does not hold a place in mainstream media.
