Noted partier Andrew W.K. is headlining the 2018 Melbourne Writers Festival. (Is ‘headline’ the right word for a literary festival? I really don’t know!) Announced today as part of the festival’s second speaker announcement, W.K. will also be joined at the festival by Ta-Nehisi Coates, David Newark, Ed Husain, Marwa al-Sabouni and Juno Dawson, as well as the previously announced New Yorker writers Ronan Farrow and Emily Nussbaum.

According to the festival program, W.K. will open the festival at the Opening Night event with “a toast to survival, joy, resilience and pure existence”. Party hard! Melbourne Writers Festival runs in Melbourne from August 24 to September 2. Find more info at the MWF 2018 website.
