Puerto Rico Asks Congress for Emergency Cash
Raul Maldonado, Puerto Rico's treasury secretary, has warned that the US territory will go into "total shutdown" by the end of the month if Congress does not approve funding between $6 billion and $8 billion. Maldonado said the island's government has "zero revenue" and "will not be able to operate next month" without an emergency injection of money.—Bloomberg

Las Vegas Sheriff Thinks Shooter Had Help
Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said he is working on an "assumption" that gunman Stephen Paddock "had to have had some help at some point." The gunman's girlfriend Marilou Danley denied knowledge of the mass shooting, in which nearly 60 people have been confirmed killed and more than 500 others wounded. Republicans Mull Banning Gun Accessory Used in Vegas
Several GOP lawmakers have expressed a willingness to consider a ban on "bump stocks"—devices giving users of semi-automatic weapons the ability to fire more rapidly. Catalonia Set to Proclaim Independence Monday
Catalonia's regional government is expected to declare separation from Spain after Monday's parliamentary session. Catalan leader Carles Puigdemont said the Spanish government had dismissed the idea of mediation. The Spanish government insisted the Catalan authority "return to the path of the law" after holding an unsanctioned referendum.—Reuters

Saudi Arabia Arrests 22 People Over Online Videos
Saudi authorities accused the suspects of inciting public disorder and "stirring up feelings" by posting video content on social media.
