First up, we have to make very clear that we had nothing whatsoever to do with the outfits in this shoot. We turned up to meet the models with a bunch of gear for them, only to find that they had gone and self-styled using clothes from the one and only new clothes store in town. There was nothing we could say to persuade them to change so what you have here is what kids are

wearing in CP.

Jimmy 17

(and a friend who crashed the shoot.) I quit school in year 11 and am now working at the Opal Inn doing maintenance and hospitality. I plan to get out of Coober Pedy to live in Melbourne as soon as I can and I’m not going to miss this place at all. (When we came to write this up, we found that Jimmy had added his own comments:

I have two jobs and work

the time. I do admin training for the Northern Regional Board helping people who want to get a job mining with the new big mining company Oxiana. When I finish there I work at my boyfriend’s Greek restaurant, Emma and Toms.

I’m in year 8. I’ve lived here all my life. When I’m not in school, I’ll sleep in and then go over to my cousin’s to play PlayStation. I like racing, shooting and fighting games most. My favourite music at the moment is DJ Cronic and 50 Cent.

I studied nursing at the Coober Pedy Area School and have been nursing for two years now. Before we all worked so much, it used to be me, Tegan and Casey hanging out all the time. We’d sneak out at night to go to parties and stuff. I love Panic At The Disco.
