Brian Dozier mashed his 42nd tater of an otherwise putrid Twins season this afternoon at Target Field in Minnesota against the Detroit Tigers, and put his name down in the American League record books. Dozier now has 40 home runs as a second baseman—two of his home runs came as a designated hitter—breaking Alfonso Soriano's record of 39 in a season from 2002. Unfortunately, roughly six people saw Dozier's historic moment. The Twins are playing the first game of a double header because last night's game against Detroit was postponed due to heavy rain. The Minnesota faithful did not quite come out in droves. It's hard to blame anyone for deciding against playing hooky to go watch this Minnesota team, though.
