"The city of Montreal has been at the epicentre of Canadian artistic experimentalism for decades," the company stated in a press release. "The Red Bull Music Academy team is proud to add its own curatorial voice to the choir."

The five-week program will include daytime lectures from influential industry leaders, and nighttime performances from prominent musicians. Past featured artists include Erykah Badu, James Murphy, Flying Lotus, and Hudson Mohawke.

Applications to the event will be open to all musicians from January 18 to March 7 and are accessible via the Academy website. Participants from the Parisian edition of the series, which was cut short due to the November 2014 terror attacks in France, will also be in attendance.
