Marqise Lee Knocks off Ref's Hat in the Middle of a Shoving Match, Gets a Penalty

Larry, Curly, and Moe couldn't have concocted it any better.

One of the better sentences in the beginning of Moby Dick (don't make me choose just one, people!) ends with the following, "it requires a strong moral principle to prevent me from deliberately stepping into the street, and methodically knocking people's hats off." It might be a stretch to say that Jaguars wide receiver Maqise Lee was going about this methodically, but he certainly was in the hat-knocking-off business.

In a shoving match with Colts safety Dwight Lowery after a play, Lee extended his arm past a ref who was trying to break up the situation, and got his very fashionable and official black hat knocked off of his head. It's hard to say if this was the exact impetus for the call, but it certainly was the final straw on the camel's back. Up goes the flag.

The whole scenario has some kind of kinetic energy to it—bouncing from the push, to the shove to the hat tip, to the quickly-drawn flag. It's almost like a Three Stooges bit. Lee thinks he's some kind of wiseguy, eh?
