Over the summer, MTV announced that it'd be bringing its hit music video countdown show Total Request Live back this fall. The show helped launch the careers of celebrities like Carson Daly and Lala Anthony who hosted and interviewed music's biggest names in the late 90s and early 2000s. The show officially ended in 2008 but in a recent interview with The New York Times MTV president Chris McCarthy stated that "MTV at its best—whether it's news, whether it's a show, whether it's a docu-series—is about amplifying young people's voices," as a reason for the show's return.

TRL will make its big return next Monday, October 2, and today MTV announced that the show's first two guests will be superstar acts Migos and Ed Sheeran. The show will be broadcast on weekdays at 3:30pm from MTV's Times Square studio and will be hosted by rapper and actor DC Young Fly. If they really care about us viewers, there should be a "Bad and Boujee/Shape of You" mashup in the works for the episode, not unlike Lil Uzi Vert and Ed Sheeran's link up at this year's VMAs.
