Another Sex Doll Brothel Is Set to Open in Canada

It seems like Vancouver is the latest Canadian cities to get into that sweet, sweet sex doll brothel game.

Yes, like Toronto before it, Vancouver is prepping for the opening of its first sex doll brothel. Posters have gone up around the city advertising a company called Bella Dolls and, well, the reaction has been mixed. Some activists have been saying that the company just furthers the objectification of women and others have stated that these sort of brothels may open up the country to a more nuanced conversation surrounding sex work.

On the homepage of their website, Bella Dolls offers their prospective clients “pure indulgence, absolute freedom, and a way to make all your fantasies reality” and an “experience like no other, one where YOU [emphasis theirs] are in complete control.” Below the write up it offers a “Ladies of the Week” for 25 percent off.

The location of the brothel seems to be hidden and only announced when a client books an appointment with one of the dolls—pre-booking is available now but the brothel apparently isn’t open until November 2. The website of the company says that in order to “ensure that we uphold the privacy of each client, the entrance and exit locations are separated.”

The website for the company also claims that, in Western Canada, they are the “first offering services from the world’s most alluring silicone ladies.” On the “ladies” section they currently offer six models: Naomi, Deja, Rachel, Violet, Pamela, and Nicole. The write of the dolls offer their measurements and hair colour but also, in a sorta creepy way, assigns them an age and bio. “Nicole is a hot club girl type with a beautiful face, sweet personality, fit body, and natural breasts,” one reads–Nicole is 23 in case you were wondering. The function section is the same for all of them: “vaginal, anal, oral, and breast sex.”

The costs range from $90 for a half hour to $240 for two hours. A spokesperson for the company told CTV that they’ve been slammed with possible clients and have already almost filled up their “pre-bookings.”

If you’re thinking to yourself, ‘why does it feel like I’ve thought about a doll fucking factory earlier this month,’ you’re not going crazy. Just recently Toronto went through a similar process when Aura Dolls, another doll brothel, attempted to open in a Toronto strip mall much to the chagrin of people in that particular neighbourhood. The company had its lease pulled shortly before opening because it violated a bylaw prohibiting “adult entertainment” in the neighbourhood it was set to open in. Prior to having its lease pulled a spokesperson for the company made some rather odd claims the main one being it could work as a violence prevention initiative (it could not.)

If you’re in the GTA and sad that Aura didn’t open and don’t want to fly to Vancouver to hump a doll well, you’re in luck. Turns out that another doll brothel, this one called KinkySdollS, has been open for over a year, it just never received the fanfare Aura did.

For anyone worried about cleanliness, well, Bella Dolls assures us we shouldn’t be. On their website, they write that “every Bella doll is thoroughly sanitized with industry approved products by highly trained personnel before each use.”

For the love of god I hope they pay these “highly trained personnel” well.
