And on Wednesday, the national finance minister of Canada called for a high-level meeting in Ottawa to address the surging prices of Toronto's out-of-control housing market. Here's a very special one: a dude who literally has been offering to rent out the back of an SUV with a mattress in it for $15 per night on Airbnb. That's $311 per month, which is honestly the best price for rent I've ever heard of in the city. Located in the in-demand, condo-laden Distillery District neighbourhood, the Airbnb listing (which has since been removed, probably because the dude is all booked up with such a hot price, duh) read:"Live in the 'trunk' of my Mercedes SUV in the hot, usually expensive Historic Distillery District, also called 'Corktown' of downtown Toronto a few steps from Lake Ontario, Sugar Beach, gorgeous park lands, trails, dining, shopping, entertainment and more."Turns out it's not exactly illegal either. Police say it's permissible unless the vehicle is running or is parked illegally, CityNews reports.I mean, there might not be a bathroom, or a kitchen, or any real sense of privacy, but you would get the added benefit of being able to travel in your home (for an additional cost)—which is pretty damn good if you consider the price of a monthly TTC pass ($146.25) and those pesky Ubers that seem to be on perma-surge these days.Follow Allison Tierney on Twitter.
