Make Life Better With Hudson Mohawke’s Lyric Video For “Warriors”

Middle fingers in the air everyone!

I know, it's tough. You're barely 20% through the working week, you slept in and didn't leave enough time for breakfast, your trainers are breaking, you can't afford a haircut, your cat doesn't love you, you're worried your jeans smell, there's a high chance your iPhone battery is fucked, you keep forgetting to ring your mum, you still haven't watched The Wire, there's the vague feeling you behaved like a bellend last Saturday night, the wi-fi is shit, and there's the worry you might be treading water in a finite world rather than pursuing your own hopes and dreams. You need a motivational lyric video, mate.

"Warriors" is the latest cut to be teased from HudMo's upcoming record Lantern. Much like the rest of the album it's big in scale and even bigger in sentiment. The video is essentially a visualisation of the lyrics, but done with serious elegance, as choice phrases from the song appear on the bodies of dancers who disappear in and out of shadows. So just in case you are suffering today: stick this on as loud as possible and put your middle fingers in the air. Feel better now?

Hudson Mohawke's Lantern will be released on the 15th June via Warp. You can read our interview with him here.
