Meet the face of the “Blue Lives Matter” movement

"Many people in Black Lives Matter are spouting the ideology of 'kill the police,'" he told VICE News.

This segment originally aired Nov. 2, 2016, on VICE News Tonight on HBO.

Randy Sutton is the national spokesman for Blue Lives Matter, a title and job that he seems to have given himself. Sutton and his friends believe the vast majority of cop shootings are caused by bad training, not racism, and Sutton’s podcast listeners tend to agree.

“Many people in Black Lives Matter are spouting the ideology of ‘kill the police,'” he said.

Sutton spends much of his day in front of a camera or behind a microphone, and he comes with media training. He was featured on the TV show Cops for 12 episodes over the course of 7 years. “I think the show Cops did a great service to law enforcement and to the country,” Sutton told VICE News correspondent Jay Caspian Kang.

Blue Lives Matter is an online movement inspired by violence against police with the goal of standing up for law enforcement and facing down Black Lives Matter activists.
