Hear the Title Track from DJDS' New Album, 'Stand Up And Speak'

The duo of Jerome LOL and Samo Sound Boy combed through Craigslist ads and put up paper flyers around LA to find the track's vocalist: a doorman at a Downtown hotel.

The Los Angeles duo DJDS—AKA the duo of Sam Greisemer and Jerome Potter formerly known as DJ Dodger Stadium—just announced details of their second album, Stand Up And Speak, which is due to drop January 29 via their own Body High label. Much like our friend Floating Points (who's coming to Brooklyn next Saturday), these two chose to step back from their laptops and drum machines a bit on this one, instead aiming for a more collaborative experience with numerous singers and instrumentalists.

The two "tirelessly combed through Craigslist ads and even putting up paper flyers around LA to find musicians that fit the part," says a recent press release from the label. The singer who features on "Stand Up And Speak" works as a doorman at a Downtown hotel—though unfortunately his name goes uncredited. The title track is a classic DJDS excursion, with sweet harmonies rising over big, euphoric breakdowns and retro drum machines. Check it out, and see if DJDS is coming to your town via their upcoming US and Canadian tour dates below.
