Chapel Hill producer Porter Robinson shared a new video today called Shelter The Animation produced in collaboration with Japanese animation studio A-1 Pictures. The clip was directed by Toshifumi Akai while it was written and executive produced by Robinson, and it is soundtracked by the producer's recent single with French artist Madeon, also titled "Shelter."

The official website for Shelter The Animation features a storyline synopsis: "Rin, a 17-year-old girl, lives inside a futuristic simulator in infinite, beautiful loneliness. Each day, she awakens in virtual reality to create a world for herself, yet in real life, Rin's comatose body floats through the universe, forever trapped inside a virtual simulation she will never wake up from..."

Meanwhile, Robinson fleshed out further details about the video's plot in a post on Facebook. It "tells the story of a girl living alone for all eternity in a simulation built by her father to save her from the end of the world," he said.

Vincent Shortino and Takuma Sugi of Crunchyroll also produced the clip along with Masanori Miyake, Akira Shimizu, and Takamitsu Inoue.

Robinson and Madeon are currently traveling North America for the Shelter Live Tour, which features both artists playing live on stage together. Both artists recently told THUMP about why they love FL Studio so much in a recent feature on the internet's favorite production software.
