An online community and news site for white supremacists and the alt right will have to find a new home for its domain name.White supremacist website The Daily Stormer is being cut loose by the company that hosts its domain, GoDaddy.com, for violating terms of service. The site posted a defamatory article on Sunday about Heather Heyer, the woman killed when a car drove into a crowd of counterprotesters at an alt-right rally in Virginia on Saturday.GoDaddy tweeted late Sunday night that the Daily Stormer would have 24 hours to find someplace new to host its domain.“Given this latest article comes on the immediate heels of a violent act, we believe this type of article could incite additional violence, which violates our terms of service,” GoDaddy said in a statement to VICE News. In June, the company denied that neo-Nazi sites like the Daily Stormer violated its terms, as they didn’t “promote violence.”

Meanwhile, the Daily Stormer website claims it was breached by the hacking collective Anonymous on Tuesday morning. The Stormer’s founder, Andrew Anglin, has yet to provide proof of such a hack, and no one has credibly claimed responsibility.UPDATE Aug. 14, 2017, 2:26 p.m.: The Daily Stormer resurfaced briefly on Google’s internet name registry, but in a statement to VICE News, Google also said it was removing the publication:“We are cancelling Daily Stormer’s registration with Google Domains for violating our terms of service.”
