Watch the Video for "Mind of a Beast" Off The Glitch Mob's New Album

Super exclusive premiere!

Oh hells yeah—looks like The Glitch Mob's feverishly anticipated sophomore LP, Love Death Immortality, is finally here. Almost. (It actually comes out tomorrow, February 11, and is somehow already claiming the top spot on the iTunes electronic charts).

Taking a page out of Queen Bey's book, the LA trio is premiering ten new visuals that are meant to go along with each track on the album, all of which are designed by Brainfeeder mastermind Strangeloop (whose also done live shows for Amon Tobin, Flying Lotus, Daedelus, Skrillex, and Ras G, among many others). We're extremely stoked to have the exclusive premiere of the video for "Mind of a Beast," the first track off the album.

Grabbing you with an ominous beginning worthy of a 70s horror movie soundtrack, "Mind of a Beast" launches into a melody that nods politely to familiar, early-90s rave synths. Hardcore breakbeats drive the piece forward relentlessly, building to a frantic synthesizer-powered peak, before falling to an adrenalized halftime for the remainder of the song. Strikingly, the visuals are pretty much the opposite of what you're hearing—abstract scenes of metallic-black water, amorphous figures and scuzzy analog glitches contrast with the music's arena-sized maximalism.

It's creepy as hell, but in a decidedly understated way, with The Glitch Mob's occult-y logo flashing intermittently like subliminal stimuli. "The main difference between the last record and this one is this one's just much more epic," Edward "eDIT" Ma has said about this album. The proof is in the pudding.
