No Words Could Describe the Intensity of Mefjus' New Album

Hide your kids. Hide your wife. It's neurofunk time.

Mefjus. If you don't know, now you know. The Austrian is one of the first names to roll off the tongue in discussions of that quintessential continental neurofunk sound. For those unawares, it's like the bastard child of drum & bass and prog-metal, and it's not for the faint of heart.

The elite-level sound designer's forthcoming album, titled Emulation and released December 1 on Critical, is chock-full of absolutely fucking mental ruminations on the neurofunk style, and we've got the premiere of "Surrounded," a brutal bass-wave of a tune that at once batters your senses with intensity, complexity, and undeniable toe-tappin' groove.

It's another big win for Critical Music, one of bass music's most fervent breeding grounds for forward-thinking music. If you like it heavy, cop this album sharpish. You will not be disappointed.
