Chad Kroeger Is Beefing With Corey Taylor, What a Time to Be Alive

"How good can your music be if you've got to beat each other up on stage, throw up in your own masks every night?"

Do you hear that? It's the sound of beef alarms blaring and content creation sites being fired the heck up, because your boy Chad Kroeger—grand denizen of Nickelback—has come for Corey Taylor of Slipknot and Stone Sour fame.

In an interview with Metal Covenant (watch it above), Kroger fires a number of shots at his one-time labelmate, and neither of his bands are safe from attack. Of Stone Sour, the Slipknot side-project that actually pre-dates Slipknot, Kroeger says "They're okay, but they're not as good as Nickelback. They sound like 'Nickelback Lite.'" STRONG WORDS HUH? WELP, KROEGER'S GOT MORE FOR YOU.

On Slipknot: "They had to put on masks and jump around […] How good can your music be if you've got to beat each other up on stage, throw up in your own masks every night? […] Music shouldn't come with a gimmick." This is… interesting coming from the man who gave us "Rockstar," but I'm happy to let it slide considering it's such a solid own, and also because he cites "nasty things" that Taylor has said about him in the past.

Hopefully Taylor will hit back and we'll enjoy ourselves a delicious rock beef. For now, simply bask in the glow of Chad Kroeger's righteous anger.
