The White House released the full text of the call between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which is triggering a vote in the House of Representatives on whether to open a formal impeachment investigation into the president.
In the call, Trump asked Ukraine’s president to probe the activities of his 2020 Democratic rival Joe Biden, according to a transcript of the call, which occurred on July 25.
“There’s a lot of talk about Biden’s son, that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people what to find out about that so whatever you can do with the Attorney General would be great,” Trump told Zelensky.
“Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution so if you can look into it… sounds horrible to me,” Trump said.
