PREMIERE: Stream Ritual's Debut Album and Start a Moshpit in Your Cubicle

Furious metalcore from Hammertown to start your morning off right.

Are you angry? Are you just really pissed off for whatever reason? Great. Here's the debut album from Hamilton's Ritual for that. Formed from the remains of frontman Matt Ryan Tobin's previous group Dead and Divine, Ritual ditches the clean, soaring emo choruses that helped the former band to success and instead focuses squarely on pounding, unforgiving metalcore. The self-titled album is essentially a 40-minute-long punch to the face, with dissonant, angular guitar riffs and Tobin's harsh barks creating an impermeably claustrophobic sonic environment. Tracks like the single "Pisces" best exemplify this approach but the secret highlight might be "Love Song", an over-before-you-know-it hardcore blast that's the most moshable thing here. Consider this your Friday morning catharsis.
