The Newtown Sessions - Colleen Green

Watch as she performs the stand out track, "Taxi Driver" from 'Sock It To Me,' as well as one of our very favorite tracks, "Worship You" from 'Milo Goes to Compton.'

Colleen Green makes alluring, sun-shiny bubblegum pop gems à la The Ramones, Nobunny, Jay Reatard, and The Magnetic Fields. It's a dazzling sound, backed by a vintage drum machine, plenty of slacker reverb, and Colleen's signature stoner anthems. This is music to twist up and burn your cares away.

The songs catch fire by a simple and straightforward appeal; it's an aesthetic of lo-fi sweetness and punchy minimalism that breathes life into songs about love, relationships, isolation, and as you might guess, smoking weed.

Having just dropped her first proper full-length in 2013, Sock it To Me, on Hardly Art, and following two excellent cassette releases, Green One, Cujo and Milo Goes to Compton, Colleen is making waves as a serious contender in the best new artist category.

We were lucky to have Colleen drop by and record a live set while she was passing through NY. Watch as she performs the stand out track, "Taxi Driver" from Sock It To Me, as well as one of our very favorite tracks, "Worship You" from Milo Goes to Compton.
