Maribou State's "Rituals" Will Melt You into a Puddle of Good Vibes

This brand new cut from the duo's forthcoming album 'Portraits' will take you there.

London duo Maribou State's tunes are drenched in warm atmosphere, infused with deft musicality, and are liable to lull you into some dazed sense of blissed-out satisfaction as they get you moving. After signing to Ninja Tune imprint Counter Records, the duo are readying their debut album Portraits, to be released June 2nd, and we've got the premiere of "Rituals" (MS Edit).

"This is the first track that we wrote towards our album " the duo tell THUMP. "It felt right that it was chosen as the first single." The tune itself seems like it was yanked straight from a fresh Bonobo or Solomun set. In it, a driving backbeat sits under swells of bass and atmosphere and then it all kicks in with some vigor around the three minute mark.

"The track is another collaboration with our friend Jack Sibley (Pedestrian). It reaffirmed the idea of us turning Maribou State into a live act," " the duo explain. We've heard some rumblings that this said live act is set to unveil on a major stage. Watch this space for more info.
