Laura Jones Sophomore Visionquest EP is Darker Than a Goth Kid's Diary

Her second release on Visionquest finds the Leeds-born vibelayer exploring much darker territory than she's has previously been known to traverse.

Laura Jones has brought a musician's flair for composition to her productions for the likes of Crosstown Rebels, Leftroom, and Visionquest while notching up high-profile gigs in Ibiza and London alike. Her second release on (no longer Seth Troxler's) Visionquest, titled Eskipade, finds the Leeds-born vibelayer exploring much darker territory than she's has previously been known to traverse.

Gone are the melodic, higher-pitched synths evident on Jones' Leftroom release earlier in the year, replaced with moody techno builds and ominous basslines. It's a shift we can get behind. The three-track EP features two originals and we've got the premiere of the title track. The remix by techno veteran OCH adds a bit of pep and two whole minutes to the tune, and then that's that.
