With one out in the ninth inning against the Detroit Tigers on Friday, Blue Jays reliever T.J. House was struck in the head by a hard liner from Tigers first baseman John Hicks. The ball hit House on the back of the head, and he remained on the ground for several minutes as he received medical attention. House was eventually placed on a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance, but according to both Jays manager John Gibbons and Tigers manager Brad Ausmus, he never lost consciousness.
