VICE Sports World News Roundup: December 4

It's the 4th of December, 2015, and Sepp Blatter is still, technically, president of FIFA.

Yesterday's big story was the morning arrests of two FIFA executives in Zurich. That was followed up with an afternoon (evening, European time) press conference with the U.S. Department of Justice, which announced that 14 other officials had been indicted or arrested on charges of money laundering and bribery. A total of 27 FIFA officials have now been arrested or indicted. Sepp Blatter is not among them.

We're now left to page through the massive DOJ document they gave the world yesterday. It has some juicy bits!

After the arrests, FIFA's remaining Executive Committee members met and agreed on a number of reforms, which I've summarized here. The reforms will be voted on in February.

FIFA also discussed increasing the World Cup to 40 teams, though no decision was reached.

South African national rugby team head coach Heyneke Meyer announced he won't renew his contract when it expires at the end of the year. South Africa had hoped to win the World Cup but only managed 3rd.

This happened. Poor Tiger.

Former Chelsea striker (and one of my alltime favorite players) Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has been confirmed as the new QPR manager.

And now for my rundown of this weekend most interesting soccer fixtures:

West Ham vs Manchester United (Saturday): Only 6 points separate these two teams, and West Ham has already beaten Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City. Wolfsburg vs Dortmund (Saturday): A meeting between the Bundesliga's second and third place teams. Gladbach vs Bayern (Saturday): Since taking over as head coach early this season, Andre Schubert is undefeated at Gladbach. Is his team good enough for Bayern? Valencia vs Barcelona: Gary Neville's first game in charge will be a doozy.
